Please Send in Your Ideas to Help This List Grow.

Prepare Yourself for Conversations
You will have many opportunities to talk with other tourists and tourism employees. The Way of the Master will prepare you to witness to them. People are happy and friendly on vacation, so it’s easy to get a conversation started. Just ask them where they are from, or where they are going. Then, swing the conversation to spiritual things and start witnessing. The Way of the Master will tell you how to do it.

Drop a Few Hundred Wallets
You can easily drop a few hundred Wallet Tracts while you vacation. Here are some places to “lose” your wallets: fairs, festivals, theme parks, the beach, hotel hallways, shopping areas, reunions, gas stations, restaurants, rest areas, camp grounds, taxis, public restrooms, and leave them behind on public transportation. You get 100 for $12.

Paying at the Drive Thru on a Road Trip
When you pull forward to pay for your food at a fast food drive thru, pull out a Large $100 Bill Tract and ask - “Do you have change for a hundred?” After the laugh, tell him that he can keep it and to read the back when he gets a chance.

Airport Outreach
Leave Million Dollar Bills and Ten Commandment Coins in the bathrooms and parking lots. Put Are You Good Enough to Go To Heaven Tracts in the Back Seat Pocket on the Plane. Show and give away Curved Illusion Tracts while waiting for the plane. Give away Travel Kits to kids in the airport.

Tip People That You Wouldn’t Normally Tip
These Money Holders have a gospel message on the inside. Put a crisp $1 (or $5) bill inside each one and pass them out to: airline staff, car rental employees, hotel staff, restaurant hostess, lifeguard, theme park garbage sweepers, bus drivers, and fast food workers. You can also give them out to kids, so they can buy themselves a snack or souvenir.

Share Your Snacks
Take extra snacks to share with fellow, hungry travelers. This is a great way to start a conversation. Prepare if you’re traveling during bad weather. We traveled during a snowstorm and many people decided to wait out the storm inside a rest area building. I wish that I had brought extra food so that I could share it with them.

Make and Give Away Kid Travel Kits
Parents will be thrilled to have something to keep their kids occupied. Here are some ideas for what you can put in the kid travel kits:
The Amazing Starfish
The World’s Best Optical Illusions Tract
Curved Optical Illusion Trick
101 of the World’s Funniest One Liners (glue a small strip of paper to the front that says - For the adult who is traveling with you.)
Travel Activity Pages - print them off the Internet
Small Writing Notebook - Buy in packs at the Dollar store.
Crayons - Buy a big pack and put 4 in a bag.
A Snack Item - Small package of Little Debbie Peanut Butter Crackers, Fruity Snacks, individual packs of Gold Fish crackers.
Loot/Treat Bags or plastic sandwich baggies

Traveling Prayer Journal
As you meet people and they tell you about their hard life, pull out your prayer journal and tell them that you are going to enter them into your prayer journal so that you can remember to pray for them. This will give you an opportunity to tell them why you think prayer is so important. Offer to pray aloud for them. You can also give away a tract called Comfort From the Bible.

Exchange Addresses
Get to know fellow travelers enough to exchange addresses. Commit to send them a postcard from your hometown. You can have a long distance friendship through Email, phone, or letters. When you correspond, share about your Christian faith and church related things that are important to you.

Give Away Books
Carry copies of The Key to Personal Peace on the plane. If the people sitting around you look bored, ask them if they want a Billy Graham book to read. They are $2 each.

Share Sun Block Lotion
Plan to buy or take a supply of sun block lotion if you’ll be going to outdoor summer events or hanging out by the beach, lake, or pool. You’ll find many people who won’t be prepared and their skin will be burning. It’s easy to start a conversation when you offer to share your sun block.

Pass Out Cold Water
Buy cold water in bottles and pass them out to people at the beach. This is a good conversation starter. You can also wear a hat or shirt that represents your Christian beliefs.

Tour Christian Organizations
This is a good idea for when you’re visiting your non-Christian relatives. Find the Christian organizations that offer tours. Tell your relatives that you’d like to go tour the organization while you’re in town. For example: In Orlando, Florida, you can go to the Campus Crusade for Christ World Headquarters and tour the Jesus Film Studio. You can also tour Wycliffe Bible Translators and go to the Discovery Center Museum. If there aren’t any Christian organizations nearby, you can suggest going to a concert, event, or passion play at a church.

Support a Christian Ministry
Before you go on your trip, find out which Christian ministries you will be near. For example: If you’re going to be near Buckner Orphan Care in Dallas, Texas, organize a donation project so that you can hand deliver a big box of items for the orphans. Buckner is a Christian organization that witnesses to orphans through out the world by helping to meet their needs.

Ten Commandment Necklaces
Pass out Ten Commandment Necklaces at a festival, fair, beach, park, outdoor music concert - anywhere there is a group of people. The coins used in these necklaces list the Ten Commandments, a short gospel message, and the NeedGod.com website.

Wear a What If? and Pass Out What If? Cards
The black What If? T-shirt has the words “What If?” printed on the front. When someone asks you about what the words mean, you can give them a What If? Card. The card lists many “what ifs?” and a website that presents a salvation message.

Rest Area Outreach
Here are some ideas for witnessing to people in a rest area: Pass out snacks and cold drinks. Leave Wallets Tracts and Ten Commandment Coins in the bathrooms and parking lots. Bless a large family by giving them some money to help with their trip or eating out at the Travel Plazas on the East Coast. Pull out your guitar, lean up against your car, and sing some Christian music.

Share Magazines
Take a collection of Christian and secular magazines on the plane to share with others sitting around you.

Pack Extra Bibles
Take along a few inexpensive NT Bibles and a few Comic Bibles. Pray that you’ll find the right people to give them to.

Show People a Picture of Your Pride and Joy
When visiting relatives or meeting new people, get your wallet out and show them a picture of your Pride and Joy. (It is a gospel tract and only costs .05) Then, tell them that they can have it.

Tollbooth Tipping
When you’re traveling along the turnpikes this summer, tip the tollbooth workers - a real bill and a Million Dollar Bill Tract. Each million dollar has a short gospel message on the back.

Face Painting
You can Paint Faces in public parks, campgrounds, and at the beach. Set up a table near the kids and start painting faces. You can also have basket of tracts on the table and let the kids pick out the one they want. Here are some kids tracts that you might be interested in:

Camping Fun Kits for Kids
Walk around the campground and pass out fun kits to kids. Here are some ideas for what you can put in the kits:
Frogs!
Scavenger Hunt List
Camping Word Search
Camping Worksheets
Activity Pages - Get an inexpensive activity book and pull out a few pages to put into each kit.
Small Writing Notebook - Buy in packs at the Dollar store.
Crayons - Buy a big pack and put 4 in a bag.
A Snack Item - Small package of Little Debbie Peanut Butter Crackers, Fruity Snacks, individual packs of Gold Fish crackers, packages of trail mix, S’more granola bars, or individual Rice Krispi Treats.
Loot/Treat Bags or plastic sandwich baggies

Musical Performance
Do you play guitar? Can you sing? Here are some places that you can play and sing Christian music while on vacation: a rest area, down town in a public square, a park, a subway station, at the beach, or around the campfire. Just start playing and talk to the people that come over to listen. You may want to have some Are You a Good Person? Tracts, or Ten Commandment Coins to give away. You could also open up your guitar case, fill it with Million Dollar Bills Tracts and set out a sign that says Take One.

Knit While You Travel
While you travel you can knit clothing items or blankets for Christian organizations that helps kids. I like knitting hats on a Circular Loom. People are curious and have to ask about it, so it’s a great way to start a conversation. I offer to show them how to do it and tell them where they can get one. When they ask what I’m making I say something like: I’m making a hat that will be sent to an orphanage. This is what I do to serve Jesus.

Entertaining Tracts
You can get people’s attention doing some entertaining tricks with these tracts:
Curved Illusions
The World’s Best Optical Illusions
Coin Trick
Revolving Circles
IQ Tests
Survey Intelligence Test
Smart Cards
Ticket to Heaven

Arts and Crafts
Invite kids to come over to your campsite to make crafts. Ideas for crafts: use items found in nature, make camping and forest related crafts, and make Ten Commandment Necklaces. Give each kid a gospel tract before they leave.

Send Some Tracts Anonymously
Is there someone you care about, but you just can’t witness to or give the person a tract? Maybe the person doesn’t want to “hear it from you again”. Or, maybe the person doesn’t like you and won’t respect what you have to say. Consider this idea. Choose some of the tracts that you think would be best for the person to read. Put them in an envelope and when you’re far away from home - mail them. This won’t work if the person knows that you vacationed in the same place as the postmark on the envelope. It will work if you’re changing planes halfway across the country, and you mail the envelope at the airport.

Do Intelligence Tests
Go to a public location, like the sandy beach or a park. You could also rent table space at a fair or festival. Set up a portable camping table and beach chair. Make a sign that says - Take the Intelligence Test and Get a Free Prize. Set a basket on the table filled with inexpensive prizes like: Lollipops, Hey Kids Test Your Memory (booklet for memorizing the Ten Commandments), World’s Best Optical Illusions Tract, and cheap prizes from the Dollar Store. (Get a package that contains many novelties for $1.) When a person comes to you, ask the questions on the Intelligence Tests and write down the answers. When finished, hand the person the survey and tell him that the answers are on the back. (Along with a Gospel message.) Then, tell him to pick a free prize.

Hotel Outreach
You can leave a Million Dollar Bill Tract with a good tip for the maid. Make sure that you don’t leave a big mess for the maid, if you’re going to announce that you’re a Christian. You can deliver a postcard from your state to the front desk as you check out. Thank the hotel workers for their service and let them know that you enjoyed your stay. Write an address on the postcard to an evangelistic sight like TheFreeBeeSite.com or TheGoodPersonTest.net. Go to the complimentary breakfast, so that you can start conversations with other hotel guests. Be prepared to give away a contact postcard or icebreaker or tract. You can plan a get together for each evening. Meet in your hotel room, play the guitar, have songs sheets, provide snacks and drinks, lead a devotional, take prayer requests, leave your door open so people will see what’s going on when they walk by, put a sign on your door, invite people at the pool and the ice machine, make flyers for the brochure rack, maybe the front desk will let you put up a flyer in the elevator, give away booklets, Bibles, and tracts.

Play volleyball and Frisbee and invite others to join.

Invite people you meet to a campfire on the beach, or a morning worship service on the beach. (You might throw in some free coffee and doughnuts, also.

Make and pass out Christmas cards (with a Christian message) and ornaments. Pass out $50,000 Santa Claus Cash with a salvation message.
Take along a collection of Christmas Tracts to give away.

English Conversations
If you’re traveling to a foreign country, look for college-aged students. They may want to practice speaking English with a real native.

Pass Out Postcards
Take along a bunch of postcards from your “neck of the woods”. You can give them away as you meet people who think it’s neat that you are from _____. Before you give away a postcard - write down your Email address and the address for an evangelistic website like TheFreeBeeSite.com or TheGoodPersonTest.net

Animals for Fussy Babies
Get some cute stuffed animals from the Dollar Store to give to parents with babies. Give away a tract with each animal or sew on a tag that advertises an evangelistic site.

Million Dollar Bill for Older Kids and Adults
This will help keep them entertained on the plane. Pass out a Million Dollar Bill Tract inside the the World’s Best Optical Illusions Tract.

Volunteer at a Christian Organization
Before you head off on your vacation, find out which Christian organizations you will be near. Contact the organization and make arrangements to volunteer during your stay.

Visiting Non-Christian Relatives
Look for opportunities to be a witness to your non-Christian relatives. You can say: We’re thinking about going to a church tomorrow morning and then out for lunch. Are you interested in getting together to do that? Sometimes churches have a special service that travels to a resort or theme park. I’ve heard of Christian church services near Disneyland, Hawaiian resorts, and in boating areas on lakes.

Here are some ideas for how to witness at a campground:
Dress up as a forest animal and pass out the Frogs! Tract to kids.
“Drop Wallets” around the campground.

Give away Large Hundred Dollar Bills to kids, at their campsite.
Play volleyball and Frisbee and invite others to join.
Play the guitar and sing at your campsite. When other campers look at what you are doing, wave and yell out something friendly. Maybe this will start a conversation.
Invite people you meet to a campfire sing a long and sharing, testimony time.
Invite campers to a morning “church” service at your campsite. (You might throw in some free coffee and doughnuts, also.
Walk around the campground and pass out Camping Fun Kits (see details above) to the kids.
Pass out flyers inviting people to come to your campsite after dark to look through your telescope and roast marshmallows. Give them a tract to take with them or exchange E-mails.

Tip and a Tract
When you tip someone, include a Million Dollar Bill Tract. Make sure you don’t skimp on the tip. You don’t want to make Christians look bad.

Pass out Tracts at a Festival
Go to a festival and Pass out Large 100 Dollar Bills that have a gospel message on the back. You can also pass out Ten Commandment Pressed Pennies as a conversation starter that leads into a message about salvation.

Pass out Flyers
TheFreeBeeSite.com tells people how to order a free Bible, a free book from Billy Graham, get free prayer counseling over the phone, or other items that explain Salvation. You can print flyers, punch a hole near the top, insert a rubber band, and hang them on doorknobs.

Christian T-shirts and Hats
Wear a Christian T-shirt or hat. It may lead to a spiritual conversation. You can find them online at ChristianBook.com and ChristianShirtShop.com

Ministry to Truck Drivers
Pass out flyers to truckers when you stop at rest areas and get gas at truck stops. Advertise the different Truck Stop Ministry sites that they may be interested in like:
Transport for Christ.org and Truck Stop Ministries. These sites list the Truck Stop locations of Mobile Chapels with Chaplains. There are Bible Studies to print, some chapels give out Bible Study courses and other printed material, a 24-hour trucker prayer line, and radio programs are available.
You can also pass out Free Bibles and Devotionals to the truck drivers.

Pass This Out to People Who are Waiting
101 of the World’s Funniest One Liners is a humorous tract that you can give to people who are waiting and need something enjoyable to pass the time. Give these to people who are: on a plane, waiting for the train to come, taking any public transportation, on a lay over at the airport, or waiting in line.

Become a Lay Counselor
This one is a big time commitment and involves $450. Get the materials Caring for People God’s Way and study to become a lay counselor. You’ll be prepared to offer your counseling assistance to anyone you meet while you are traveling. You will come in contact with people who are: on another business trip and lonely, depressed, escaping the stress of life back home, going to a funeral, going to visit a loved one in the hospital with a life threatening situation, nervous students heading off to college, and single parents flying out to pick up their kids. You can tell them - I’m a lay counselor. If you’d like to talk about it, I’ll listen. Carry along a supply of tracts to give away after you’re “counseling session”.

Send Postcards
While you’re on vacation, buy a bunch of postcards. Send them to your non-Christian friends, family, and co-workers. Write about the fun you are having. Give God credit for helping you get through a difficult time that you had on the trip. (Our car broke down in Montana and it was miraculous how God worked everything out. We broke down close to town, someone stopped to take my husband to the only repair shop for miles and miles around, and they fit us in just before closing early for Christmas. I sure wish that I had thought about sending out postcards to tell everyone.)

After Vacation Email
Create an email telling your relatives and friends about your trip. Send pictures of your vacation. You can witness through your email.

Encourage Other Christians to Witness on Vacation
You can tell them how you are planning to witness on your vacation. Tell other Christians about how you witnessed and how rewarding it was. Tell them about this site before they go on vacation. Make them some Kid Travel Kits and ask them to give them away on their vacation. Hand them some Wallets that they can “drop” while they travel. At the beginning of summer, make a church bulletin insert that advertises this web site.

Prepare With a Variety of Tracts

Be prepared for the different kind of people that you will meet while on vacation.
